Making choices in their daily learning is something I teach as part of self-advocacy. When students are allowed to make a choice, they are more engaged, focus better, and are happier. The WOBBLE chairs, which we currently have just one in the classroom, are durable- which is needed in a class of TK-1st grade students, and are perfect to help students fidget while they engage in their work.
Writing would be so much more enjoyable if there were resources that helped with that skill. As a teacher of emergent writers, some students are still developing arm-wrist movement. Our OT has recommended slant boards, but unfortunately, we also share one. Having this tool would help facilitate writing and my students' fine motor development too.
My last request are the weighted lap pads. Our classroom has two, but I have more than two students who would benefit from this support. These help keep my students remain calm and focused- which allows them to benefit from stories and engaging in lessons.
