Morning tubs are a creative way for students to begin each school day engaged in creative and collaborative activities. The students will enjoy working as a team for morning tubs instead of having to work independently at their desk first thing in the morning.
Having multiple morning tub manipulative choices will provide additional opportunities for my students to practice all these necessary skills. This will also help improve the social-emotional climate in the classroom by giving students opportunities to talk and work together to start each and every school day. My students will gain so much from having "free play" with morning tubs. They will be able to be creative while using the magnets, blocks, tinker toys, links, etc. Students will be able to choose a morning tub that has materials that interest them. This will make students more engaged because they will have some ownership for the activity.
Help me give my students hands on activities that build thinking skills. We need materials that will allow us to use our hands and brains to create, communicate, and build.
