With up to 31 students in one classroom, ages 7-8, space is always an issue. Students are very active, and all have different learning abilities, interests, and attention spans. I love teaching and try to make all of our lessons both fun and engaging. Giving students flexible seating options will help each learner stay focused and engaged!
Majority of students find it hard to sit on an uncomfortable chair all day. These flexible seat options will be a huge hit with every student. Some of the items I am requesting donations for are: wiggle stools, stationary balance ball chairs, and comfortable cushioned floor seats. The wiggle stools will allow those students who enjoy the freedom of being able to lightly stretch their backs and move around a bit while sitting at a desk. The stationary balance ball chairs will allow students to sit in a more free flowing chair that is similar to sitting on a trampoline. They will be able to ever so slightly bounce their bodies a tiny bit while being able to direction their attention on their work. The cushioned floor seats will offer students an alternative seating option. Some students enjoy sitting on the floor where they can learn and listen at a different level. These seats will offer comfort and support for those students. Every student will love having a choice of where to sit and which piece of furniture to sit on. Students love having choices and feeling like they are involved.
