The majority of our students come from low-income family households. Through athletics, we have witnessed higher attendance and grade improvement in the school. Our teams work hard day in and day out and have developed a sense of self-worth through sports participation. Our current equipment is in desperate need of replacement due to being very worn and damaged.
This project is requesting American Challenge Brasilia soccer balls, goalie gloves, and volleyballs, which will provide much-needed excitement and spirit to our student athletes. Having this equipment will increase the number of students that we will be able to coach and mentor. They will provide a positive outlet for students who need a sense of belonging.
Middle school athletics provide enjoyment, development and physical activity for students grades 6-8, exposure to teamwork, provide opportunities to take pride in school, along with being mentored by a staff that motivates them to be successful both on and off the field.
