I am requesting sixty copies of the book, What Money Can't Buy. Our high school seniors will read this book and use it to discuss the US market economy. Some of the questions posed in this book that students will have a chance to debate and discuss include: Should people be able to pay someone to wait in line for them at a Congressional Hearing or at the US Supreme Court? Should individuals be able to purchase the right to hunt endangered species? Should society pay students to do their homework?
Using this book, we will challenge our students to consider all of the possible answers to these difficult questions. They will have an opportunity to work in small groups and participate in larger group discussions as well.
