The four stools and two lightweight reclining chairs will gross motor, sensory stimulation, and stimulation necessary to provide my students with the sensory input needed to be able to successfully learn in the classroom. It will help prepare my students to learn to sit quietly and complete work independently. These materials will not directly teach my students new skills but will help me teach them in a variety of content areas and allow them to focus on them and with many daily living skills. For example, when I am teaching a lesson, some of my students will be running and jumping to get their sensory input. If I had this sensory seating, I could have my students learn by wobbling and wiggling in these seats. The movement that they will receive from these seat will provide them with the sensory input that they need to complete tasks. Finally, the students will be able to sit and learn to focus on the skills that we are learning about.
The donations for this project will improve my classroom by reducing the amount of behavioral issues, because it will provide them with the sensory stimulation that they need due to their disabilities.
With less behavioral issues, we can increase our learning and task completion time . I'm looking forward to seeing my students happier and ready to learn.
