My classroom contains untapped creativity in need of inspiration. About half of the class is engaged in an afterschool activity such as sports, but too many remain chained to experiences through television and video games due to a lack of options based on socioeconomic status. We are one element, one class of a whole, that represents an area plagued with poverty. Our school strives to feed the needs required by our future leaders, but this is often hampered by the fact that our children go without many basic needs. Despite struggles they are eager learners just waiting for an opportunity to shine.
