Right now my low income, special needs students draw on whatever they find lying around. They use the back of old mail, pages in their lined notebooks, and even the margins of an occasional workbook! These sketchbooks would provide a personal and dedicated space for them to create and save their art. They love to create and share their drawings with me and their peers. Art is a very important outlet for the children to express the complicated and difficult feelings they are having right now, which they are often unable to express any other way.
