Our students have many computer based programs such as Achieve 3000 and I Ready to help improve both reading and math scores. They are amazing programs with abilities to teach new concepts as well as review and remediate.
Headphones are desperately needed in both the computer lab and the media center for students to use in order to be advance their learning as well as help with remedial skills.
Students can work on these programs during the day during classroom downtime, as well as before and after school. These headphones would be stored in the media center and computer lab to be used by all 745 students at least twice a week.
Students in grades 3-6 have school issued Chromebooks as part of a county wide One to One initiative, but they cannot be utilized for these necessary programs without the use of headphones as they require listen and response answering.
