I am requesting a talking microscope, test tubes, science kits, a butterfly garden, bugs, sensory dome and other science materials that will allow my students to have hands on experiences to learn what science is all about. The microscope will be very interesting to the students and will allow for explorations. As you can see in our photo, our science center is VERY bare and is in dire need of materials. These materials will enable my students to have an enhanced science center where they will be able to have hands on learning with science. They will be able to put their minds to think like a scientist as they explore the materials in the science center.
I feel that a child must be able to physically hold and explore something to truly understand it. The students will be more eager to come to the science center and explore what is offered if the center was better equipped. Some of these students only get the opportunity to learn hands on while they are at school.
An enhanced science center will allow the students a place to keep their imagination and learning growing.
