Being in a low income and high free/reduced lunch population, my students often do not have the opportunity to showcase their work outside of their own school community. This year the Oral History class' five members have been accepted to present to the Texas Oral History Association Conference in Austin Texas in April. Their presentation of their papers will expose them to those in the field, university professionals as well as the college campus lifestyle. Most of these students have not traveled outside of the Colorado Springs area, so this life changing experience will expose them to different cultures, states and way of life.
