Food insecurity puts tremendous stress on families, who worry about food running out before money becomes available to buy more. As a result, parents may skip meals, so their children can eat, and a child鈥檚 meals may shrink throughout a week or month or even disappear entirely. No Kid Hungry reports that 74% of educators have students who regularly come to school hungry. The materials will help our class and volunteer parents maintain a proper garden. The garden takes will allow us to keep the garden properly maintained. The water hose and the pistol grip water nozzle will also enable students to consistently water the gardens. The five round point shovels will allow students to be involved in maintains the garden. This project will allow students to participate in given back to their school community by providing our hungry and less fortunate students with fresh fruits and vegetables to take home on weekends and breaks such as summer and spring break.
