The snacks that I am requesting for my students will help them focus throughout their long school day without hunger getting in the way of their learning. Research shows that hunger may impact a child’s school performance, as children from families who are not sure where their next meal may come from have lower math scores and repeat a grade, among other challenges.
By providing my students with a small snack, in the event they feel hungry throughout their school day before lunch at 1 pm, you are helping them grow, develop and focus on learning instead of thinking about the food they need.
Ultimately, they need to be able to concentrate in the classroom so they can succeed in school and be prepared for fruitful futures.
