I teach high school in an inner city where I was born and raised. The majority of my students are economically disadvantage, but that does not discourage them from wanting to learn and being creative. My students are a mix of English Language Learners and I have some students with learning disabilities from over several different cultures.
My philosophy of education is simple, tell me and I forget; teach me and I remember; involve me and I LEARN- Benjamin Franklin.
I teach by that motto in my classroom. Many of my students love to be hands on and create different things, such as dioramas.
Most of my students do not have access to different materials which will allow for them to be creative while learning about different historical events.
