The purpose of the sphero project is to increase the students’ knowledge of the engineering design process through content area information and fun.
In today’s society, students need to be able to keep up with the world and learn technological processes. This should also be accomplished by allowing children to still be children. The sphero company has designed an all ages friendly robot that students use to learn coding. Coding in this context implies that student will learn how to actually write script and interact with the functionality of how the robot acts. The object can easily be used to focus on content as well as preparing the students for the future with the incorporation of coding. The use of the spheros will help students learn coding by reinforcing the technology most student already have by using applications on their phones or other electronic devices.
