Music levels the playing field for our ELL students. The things our students struggle with the most is listening and speaking. Having taught many years working with our high population of ELL students, I know first hand how nerve wracking it is for our kids to try to overcome learning a new language and having the confidence to speak to native peers. I'm requesting a class set of ToneChimes for kids to create and perform music with their peers.
Students will be able to share their music skills and enthusiasm through the musical chimes. This will also help boost their confidence and willingness to practice listening and their musical skills in addition to conversations that boost their listening and speaking confidence. The addition of ToneChimes would give my students a much needed boost of practice in the areas of listening and speaking. Students who are confident in their listening and speaking abilities will be ready to face the challenges of higher education and their future.
