These picture cards are a critical teaching tool for building multiple language based skills for my students. In my classroom, these cards will help my students expand their receptive and expressive vocabularies, build their understanding of categories and item functions, learning matching and sorting skills, and even help them write stories!
Building my students receptive and expressive vocabularies is critical to their success and independence in the future! I currently have five students sharing picture cards. While they are happy to share, locating the correct pictures for instruction for each student often slows down and interrupts instruction. Due to my students' learning and behavioral needs, it is critical that I am able to limit any delays and distractions during instruction. Having additional set of cards will limit the amount of sharing of materials and maximize instruction in my classroom.
