My students need noise canceling headphones and various sensory items for stimulating thinking and sustaining focus. My students will use these materials in a small group setting in our pull-out academic intervention sessions, and within their general education classrooms. Noise cancelling headphones are essential to some of my students' being able to focus wtihin their general education classrooms. My students will use these materials to experience greater comfort when writing and learning pencil grip position. The motivational posters will be displayed in the Resource Room, placed strategically, and referred to when students are struggling. As students with Individualized Education Plans, they each have their own goals and reward schedules. Each student has a plan to that encourages them to earn tangible rewards and reward time (moon ball for one-on-one reward time). Sensory strategies are research-based methods for helping children cope with attention deficits and anxiety. Our classroom is currently down to two stress balls, one is in four separate pieces. These are very popular and helpfull for our students. Scratch and sniff stickers with positive messages will be a great way to reinforce scholars nonverbally, especially when they are wearing noise-cancelling headphones! Your generous donation to our project will improve our Resource Specialist Program (RSP) classroom by helping to create tranquility. stimulation, and motiviation! This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age --- having fun while learning!
