The students served by this grant are K-2nd grade students at our school in three diverse programs: an English Language Development strand, a bilingual Spanish strand, and two Special Day Classes serving students with significant disabilities. All of our students are developing their literacy skills in English or in Spanish, with little access to literacy outside of the walls of our small urban public-school. These are students who live in a community that values reading, but has limited access to text. Your support for this vibrant, diverse and exceptional group of students provides them greater access to rich literacy opportunities that supports their growth into thoughtful, independent and enthusiastic readers!
