In our new classroom, students will be using tables rather than desks. This creates the need to establish new routines for where our materials are kept during the day and how we manage them.
The storage center will allow students to keep supplies in a centralized location while maintaining personal responsibility for their folder and bin area. The top portion of the storage center is the perfect place for the students' homework folder and planner. We use these daily to keep track of assignments and communicate with families. The storage center will make the planner and folder easily accessible throughout the day. The bins down below will be used to store their math journals, literacy work, and social studies work. Students will appreciate that they still have a personal area to store their supplies. The colored coded folders and bins will help us make smooth transitions to the area.
