The students I work with attend a magnet school in St. Louis City. Many of our students are receiving free and reduced lunch and living in single family homes. Our students often lack the opportunities of other children their age due to social and economic factors. Many have dealt with severe loss at an early age. Many live each day in survival mode as their families struggle to make ends meet. I find my students very resilient and they inspire me daily.
