Along with conducting assessments and working with Special Education students, my role as the school psychologist includes supporting the social-emotional needs and mental well-being of all students. In order to do this, I work directly with students by conducting individual and small group counseling, classroom lessons, and providing professional development for teachers and parents. Our students require support in a variety of areas beyond academics, including anxiety, social stress, family and home challenges, bullying, attention/impulsivity, conflict resolution and problems solving, among many others. It has become abundantly clear from our current events in the US that we as educators need to improve our support of children's mental health and social-emotional well-being from an early age. My role as a school psychologist allows me to work towards developing our students' well-being beyond their academics in order to help students develop into well-rounded children and young adults. Support from 第一吃瓜网.org would greatly assist in providing resources, such as books, art materials, and sensory objects, to teach my students self-regulation, coping, communication, and emotional support skills.
