My students come from very diverse cultural backgrounds and a variety of languages. The students educational experiences are as varied as their languages. The school socioeconomic status is 95% free or reduced lunch students. The availability of resources within our school are strained to capacity. The lack of resources include, paper, workbooks, technology, and even pencils.
In order for my students to make academic gains, they need to have access to multiple avenues of learning. The curriculum provides some of these options, but enriching their learning with online activities, tutorials, and reference sites, would increase their understanding of the world around them. The curriculum also requires an online reading comprehension program, but we currently are without the necessary computers and headphones to make it a success.
The students are excited to use the program.
