I teach in a rural school in Nebraska. Our community is very involved in our school and the elementary and high schoolers attend in the same building. In a town of under 1,000, our elementary school serves around 150 students. 25% of our students receive free and reduced lunch. My classroom consists of 18 very active 7 and 8-year-olds.
Although my students come from a variety of backgrounds, they all share the same energy that comes from being a second grader and the desire to learn and play!
