This project is a partnership between teachers, parents and students to increase student achievement. I believe that all of my students will learn and achieve academic success this year. Children spend 57% of their time away from school, 33% of their time asleep, and only 10% in school. That means we need parent support to make sure the students continue learning even after they leave school. Teachers know that by partnering with parents to support the learning that goes on in school, the students will benefit in so many ways!
I am happy to be involved in the Academic Parent Teacher Team learning community. Families will learn more about their child鈥檚 academic progress, and work together with me to create a student success plan for the year. Together, we will be creating goals for the students for parents to support at home. Parents will take fun learning activities home to work with their children during the week to ensure their child gets closer to meeting his/her academic potential.
The teacher and parents will be having three 75-minute meetings throughout the course of the school year. These meetings will be fun and engaging, and parents will walk away excited and more confident to support what their child is doing here in our classroom.
