This year I have TWO classrooms! I know, I know...how did I get so lucky? Well my schedule has turned in to a bit of a roller coaster. In the morning I am a 6th grade CORE teacher, wielding novels and history books and lining my walls with classroom norms about conversations and text features and quotes to inspire students to think outside of the box. In the afternoon I am Choir Teacher Extraordinaire, singing solfegge with students and hanging posters of inspirational musical artists and musical vocabulary on the walls. My goal is to create two separate environments that are equally engaging for my students. Each room should be a place where my students feel safe to create, whether it be writing an essay or singing an aria.
