I have over 25 percussionists in my program. Some of them come from lower income/poor households and are unable to afford equipment including drumsticks. On top of that, the drumsticks that I did have are lost or students over the course of the last five years have taken them.
We have four drum stands for four snare drums, but two of them are in very bad condition. We need two good drum stands because I cannot have my students sharing drums with the two good drum stands. Many students need to have their own space and sharing drums can get hectic, especially with beginning percussionists. With the new drum stands, everyone can have a pleasant and fair learning experience.
