I am requesting a sensory table to serve as a learning center that will enrich hands-on learning through investigation, discovery, and cause & effect. My sensory table will provide an open invitation for hands-on learning. The children will use their five senses to collect data and make sense of items within the table.
This sensory table will also help promote and strengthen language, social and dramatic play skills as children negotiate to share tools with one another, create stories and engage in conversations.
Sensory play is an important ingredient while teaching prekindergarten. It serves as an open-ended activity and provides an opportunity for every child to succeed. This sensory table will be a great addition to my special education classroom.
