In my art class, I like to teach my students about the ancient and diverse cultures from around the world. There is so much beauty in the art of cultures from our past. The students not only enjoy working on such projects, but they also learn so much world history. We are requesting drafting pencils, tempera paint, watercolor brushes, tape, scratchboard, and markers.
I plan to do a unit about ancient Egypt, in which each grade level creates a work of art inspired by this culture.
The scratch boards will be used to draw an Egyptian inspired drawing and scratch it out. The gold in the scratch board reveals a beautiful Egyptian drawing. The metallic paints will be used to paint an Egyptian cartouche, that has the names of the students in hieroglyphics. The markers and paints will be used to create other Egyptian projects with different grade levels. All the supplies I ordered will assist me in immersing my students in the art and culture of ancient Egypt, and creating a beautiful work of art inspired by it.
