This year I would love to incorporate science into my art room through butterfly projects. We will start off with simple things like drawing and painting the butterflies with watercolor and markers. Then we will move on to coffee filter butterflies with clothespins and pipe cleaners. After that clay models and sculptures. We will get to the best part by bringing in caterpillars that each classroom can take and watch grow as part of the butterfly life cycle.
Children love to create with art, and we want to create butterflies everywhere while learning the life cycle and watching real caterpillars transform. We will follow the life cycle of our butterflies with art projects and learn science in my art room as well as their regular classrooms. By helping support this project you will show over 300 students how science and art go hand in hand to make STEAM.
