I want my students to be able to have their own instrument to borrow for the school year to benefit their music education by being able to take their instrument home daily and not have to worry about a partner taking it home before they get a chance. This instrument will not only benefit the students this year, but will continue benefiting students for years to come as the program continues to grow and educate more young musicians. Cello's are very expensive for the right kind of cello that will last a long time and not break or have consistent issues. I teach in a Title 1 school in a lower socioeconomic area of the city which means we do not have a lot of money in our budget for big purchases like this. Having even one more cello in the inventory will benefit the entire orchestra by having the opportunity to give students their own instrument for the school year.
