Bright, cheerful and welcoming is how I would describe the classroom. It's an old school with lots of character. You walk in and there are many inviting colors, and troll homes hanging above each table group (the classroom is themed after the movie Trolls). The decorations in the classroom make it bright, but the students are what make it so cheerful. For many students this classroom is there most predictable, consistent, and safe environment. Knowing the routines helps them to come into the classroom with ease. Feeling comfortable in the classroom also helps bring out more cheer in the students. Lastly, I believe I as the teacher I make the room welcoming. I take pride in the relationships that I build each year with students, as well as systems that are in place to ensure that all students feel safe and welcomed. The students will walk through the class doors ready to gather at the carpet for some learning.
