I teach Pre-AP English 1 at a school where students earn their high school and associates degrees at the same time through dual enrollment at our partner college. Most of our students belong to populations who do not traditionally earn college degrees (at risk due to poverty, first generation college students, members of minority groups, etc.). At our school we strive to prepare them to complete their bachelors degree after they leave us, which means we must both remediate and accelerate instruction for our students on a daily basis. Attending our school is a challenge the students must willingly accept, and it is my joy to help them achieve their dreams!
