We already have some flexible seating options and it has proven to work well for many of our students, specifically our students with special needs. Students are able to focus on their work by not needing to focus on sitting in their chairs. Also, we have many students who will choose to stand because we have limited flexible seating options and they need a break for their seat.
Additionally, some of the immediate benefits of flexible seating include burning more calories, using up excess energy, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior.
