My first graders love to use computers, tablets and phones. Unfortunately, in my classroom, we have little access to technology. My students are always asking to use computers and tablets. However, with only 2 computers, it is hard to fit in the time for my students to get the most use out of it.
With 6 tablets, my students would become more active and engaged learners. We would be able to use them during reading and math centers while in small groups. My students would be able to research information and watch videos about what we are currently learning. With tablets, my students would be able to listen to stories online, which they currently do very little of.
My students are on various levels. With tablets, students are able to use apps and websites that have lessons available for their own level, which would help greatly with differentiation.
It is time for my classroom to become more technology friendly and to help my students get the support that they need to become better learners!
