Please help me give the gift or literature to my fourth grade students. My students are in need of high-interest literature that will meet their diverse range of reading abilities while providing them the opportunity to have quality, meaningful discussions with their peers.
The wide range of books such as the "I Survived" series and the "Who Is, Who Was" series, will allow my students to build their background knowledge on subjects that are currently foreign to them. This will give them the opportunity to make connections to future learning every time they open the pages to a new book.
Furthermore, having multiple copies of the same book will allow my students to read the same titles as their peers and then engage in literature-related conversations. These peer discussions will provide them the opportunity to grow their speaking and listening skills, while also giving them the opportunity to discuss literature with their peers. My students will learn how to have meaningful academic discourse and will learn to agree and disagree with one another in an academic setting. These are all skills that they will one day carry with them into the workforce.
It is the hope that the literature provided in this 第一吃瓜网.org project will allow my students to become better readers, writers, speakers and listeners, while also building their background knowledge on subjects once foreign to them.
