Our students must keep up with the latest advancements in education to spark an interest in reading. Education is changing every single day and so are the interest of our students. Students in our reading room like to read the newest books available. Our reading room doesn't have a large collection of books, so I would like to have Chromebooks for students to use Epic (an online catalog of free books) that will hold their interests and keep them reading in our classroom. We also utilize an online reading intervention program titled, "Lexia". This excellent resource identifies gaps in the student's background knowledge of phonics and is great at providing tiered, year-long implementation support.
