Using these new "Berries" desks and student chairs, students will learn the importance of learning to work together as a team and accommodate each other's ideas even when they do not agree. They will learn that sometimes project success is more important than individual accomplishments. Thereby preparing them for their near future in the working world.
By donating to this project you will help facilitate group learning and cooperation in our special-needs environment. Students will work together on different projects by using brainstorming, note taking and collaboration techniques. It is important for these students to understand that working together for a common goal can be beneficial to them as individuals or as a team.
Our current old-fashioned furniture is difficult to rearrange and group. These new desks and chairs would give us the flexibility to rearrange and collaborate more easily. It's especially important to teach social skills to our special needs students so they can learn how to interact with peers and staff.
