Flexible seating is a tool for students who struggle to stay still. I have implemented choice seating for the past four years in my classroom and in doing so, I discovered students learn best when they take ownership of their learning environment. By allowing them to handpick where they seat, and providing the kind of seats they prefer, they are more likely to be engaged and productive.
The power of choosing allows students to be reflective and take ownership of their decisions.
The seats I selected are a perfect addition to our classroom, the wobbly stools allow constant movement and are adjustable in height while the rolling chairs provide back support while permitting leg motion. I am confident that these seats will allow even the most active of my students to let the wiggles out while learning!
