Our 6th grade classes participate in many active, hands-on science experiments that require the students to determine accurate data. For example, when we study density, students look at various cubes that have the same volume but have different densities. They are asked to determine what material each cube is composed of from their densities. It is far more accurate when the students are able to determine the mass with a digital scale, particularly these scales that go to the nearest tenth.
The scales will also be helpful in providing more accurate data for our many engineering design projects that require a weight measurement component.
