In our Pre-K classroom, our mission is provide authentic learning experiences by developing and encouraging STEAM (science, technology, arts, and mathematics) activities in order to develop skills for real world problems. These materials will encourage hands on learning in the classroom while building skills that will go far beyond.
Learning through their senses will foster imaginative play while building concrete foundational skills in science and mathematics. Students will not only enjoy learning, but will be motivated to pursue these activities on their own. The sand and water sensory table provides so many learning opportunities that I as the teacher can incorporate into the lesson and unit plans. The magnetic board and magnetic centers likewise can be incorporated into our daily lessons, but can also be a place of STEM exploration. My goal in creating my classroom environment is to create an exciting, inviting place where children learn through exploration and investigation.
