In my classroom I love to create several learning areas in order to avoid my students sitting at a desk all day long. Most of my students speak Spanish at home but learn in English at school. Because they use both languages in their daily life, they need extra support with literacy during their school day. They need visuals and larger text so they can reference their learning. This will help improve learning, making them more successful in their education.
Having a classroom easel with chart paper and pens would allow my students to not just be taught but encourages student interaction and engagement. Our easel would be used for a class meeting area, introducing our focus area in math, literacy writing etc. and reviewing past material. As a group we will be able to create a resource that they can continue to reference back to throughout the year.
