Students who are actively engaged in hands on activities to reflect the standards and concepts taught, will learn more effectively. I also believe that providing a clean, comfortable environment for students to learn will prove successful. The rug is interactive as I will use it for letter and sound recognition as well as number identification.
My goal as an educator, is to teach the standards and provide resources that allow them to apply what they have learned. The resources I ordered will allow me to differentiate to reach all learners. The magnetic letters can be used to match upper case and lower case for the beginner learners. They can also be used to build a word for the on target learners. For the above target learners, they can be used to construct a sentence. The whiteboards can be used in this activity as well.
The Math resources will allow the concepts I am teaching to be practiced and applied to various tasks. The ten frames, for example can be used to represent a given number. Later, they can be used to compose and decompose numbers. Again, differentiation will be supported through these activities.
I am confident in saying that incorporating these resources in my day to day routine, will allow my students to not only learn but be successful in application and problem solving skills.
