We do yoga every Friday for mindfulness. Mindfulness helps bring focus into a classroom that can be very hectic from day to day.
For more than a year we have been using foam gym floor covers pieced together as yoga mats. Having real yoga mats would help the students to be able to properly do poses and properly shield their bodies from the ground. Our class would also benefit from the mats to lay down on while we do mindful meditation as well. They all pile on the tile floor for now. It would be nice for the students to lie down on their own mats and can have a peaceful and comfortable respite during meditation.
With the proper equipment our class would be able to do our mindfulness which helps our class refocus and help ease anxieties. With the students less stressed they can concentrate on tasks at hand and learn because they are calm, focused, and in control of their own emotions.
