What is an English classroom without books? The English curriculum in my school is online, which means all of our texts are also online. These books will give students the opportunity to have actual books to read during our individual reading time. I want my students to transport themselves to the world of Harry Potter and explore the rich images of Maus.
These books mean access to a rich, diverse library for all of my students. The books represent different cultures, themes, races, and stories. There will be graphic novels and books in Spanish in order for all of my kids to have equal access to reading.
I am lucky enough to have a large classroom with a bit empty corner just waiting to be transformed. The large rug and beanbag chairs will not only create a cozy place for students to read but also an alternative seating option for everyday use! I want my students to feel at home in my room and with your help, they will have a positive environment that encourages learning, thinking, and reading!
