Flexible seating options such as the bouncy balls, stability wobble cushions, and bouncy bands will allow students to choose a seating option that best fits their individual learning style. Students with a need to move will benefit from the choices given as they will be able to "fidget" while still learning.
Learning styles are as individual as the students we teach. The manipulatives and hands on activities for math, reading and writing will allow choice and flexibility for each learner. For example, students will be able to choose to write a narrative piece using the Build a Story flip book and the Sequence and Write story tiles or choose to write and opinion piece with the Make Your Point opinion writing center. Self checking activities such as Match & Sort Language Quickies will provide hands on learning opportunities to practice skills at their own pace. Pick-A-Problem Math Warm-Ups will provide the class the opportunity to share and discuss a daily math question. Students can demonstrate their understanding by using the Magnetic Math Manipulatives Library.
