I am a reading intervention teacher for grades K-3. My classroom is focused on books. I have a teacher's library with books I will read to the students and a classroom library where students can choose their own books to read. My hope is to instill a love of reading that goes beyond curriculum, so I will incorporate many book related activities in addition to the required curriculum. I have a number of pillows and soft rugs so students can relax with a book much like you would in a bookstore and on Flashlight Friday the lights go out and we read by flashlight! My sight word lessons use the Dolch sight words but they come directly from teh books I will read to the students and the words are printed on images that relate to the books we learned them with. I am trying my hardest to make reading FUN!
