Student centered classrooms are essential. Students should be the leaders of the classroom and materials should be catered towards them. To cater materials towards my students, I must have an organizational system so students can take responsibility for their own learning. With that being said, I am requesting boxes for a classroom library, folders for each subject for each of my students (150), table caddies for materials, folder holders for every student (30), sticker sheets to label folders, book bags for all of my students (30), clip chart, and numbers and letters. The support that students need to be a successful learner looks different for every student. One piece of making my classroom accessible for all leaders is recognizing the importance of learning with the whole body. Students need the ability to wiggle as they learn. Being responsive to my students' needs, and integrating movement into all aspects of my curriculum, is a vital part of my teaching philosophy. Although I integrate movement into my curriculum, there are times in which it is necessary for me to have access to flexible seating arrangements. I am requesting funding for a class set of clipboards (30), and a class set of white boards (30). As a new teacher, I am gathering the supplies I need for morning meeting. This includes an easel classroom calendar, a hundred chart, a pointer, a number of the day chart, a weather chart, a number of days in school chart and a schedule chart.
