I will start off this school year by encouraging students to have a growth mindset. We will discuss the differences between individuals who believe their lives are determined by their circumstances and those who believe hard work and determination will help them overcome obstacles.
Students will use the novel "Wonder" to explore valuable life lessons, study character development, and build vocabulary. Because this book is engaging and accessible to all of my varied levels of readers, I am hoping that this sets the stage for future novel studies. Activities performed in class with this novel will prepare students to dig in deeply to texts read individually and as a whole class.
