This past year I began my teaching experience in a Title 1 school. I was thrown into a classroom style that was completely opposite of me. I was able to learn, grow, and picture what I would love to have in my own classroom. That picture was flexible seating.
Though this upcoming 2017-2018 school year will be my first complete year, I want to challenge myself to give my students the best learning opportunities. Flexible seating will do just this. It can look different in each classroom, from full range to student choice of seat and location to limited options of seat choice. Since this is my first year, I want to give my students different seat options. I want my students to be able to choose the type of seat that helps them learn best. My students will be able to learn how to self regulate their learning.
